The Nature Photographer of the Year 2024 awards have been presented
One of the first tasks undertaken by naturArt – the Hungarian Nature Photographers Association – after its founding in 1989 was to organize a photo competition that would allow Hungarian nature photographers to measure their skills against each other year after year and showcase their most beautiful works to the general public. In this spirit, the association announced the 32nd “Nature Photographer of the Year” competition, which is once again sponsored by Saubermacher-Magyarország Kft.
The “Saubermacher – Nature Photographer of the Year 2024” competition, similar to previous competitions, was once again an exciting contest. A total of 2,825 valid images were submitted by 143 authors. The awards were presented at a ceremony on November 12, 2024, at the Hungarian Natural History Museum, where an exhibition of the best images from the competition was opened and a book compiled from the exhibited images, “Nature Photographs of the Year – Hungary 2024,” which was published in two languages, Hungarian and English, by Alexandra Publishing.
- In 2024, the title of “Nature Photographer of the Year” was won by Csaba Daróczi, who had no fewer than 16 photos among the best, which is an absolute record in the 32-year history of the competition.
- The title of “Young Nature Photographer of the Year” was won by Máté Gazsi with several great photos.
- The title of Nature Photo of the Year 2024 was won by Ferenc Lőrinc Lőrincz with his photo entitled The Struggle, a perfect capture of an unrepeatable moment.
The Saubermacher Special Prize, with the motto “Life breaks through,” went to Boldizsár Szűcs for his photo entitled “A Crack in the Shield.” We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate him on his excellent photo!
